REVIEW: ROTTEN APPLE 907 PRESENTS “THE LAST STOP”
Outside of Disneyland, we would argue that Rotten Apple has been for decades one of the biggest inspirations for home haunts in California. They have continuously re-themed their maze year after year while continuing to be the paragon of innovative and high quality home haunts. It therefore comes as no surprise that they are the ubiquitous name that is discussed in conversations about home haunts in Los Angeles.
This year's maze is entitled "The Last Stop" and takes guests on a train journey to a town called "Cavity Cove" where a dentist has gone mad and has been turning patients into candy. The exterior is an impressive train depot - with a smoking, life size train aiming towards the sidewalk. Once inside, the first room introduces an illusion which we have never experienced before. The room, which is built to be a train car, comes to life as the whole thing shakes and rattles thanks to a mechanical system built by Rotten Apple 907. You then exit and enter Cavity Cove, where you encounter the dentist in addition to the town's very spooky and odd residents. While some offer you candied body parts, others are lifesize inflatable candies who come to life when you pass them. You then exit by following a light through a dark, catacomb-esque room. You have just left The Twilight Zone.
Rotten Apple 907 continues to be one of the best home haunt experiences in Los Angeles. Their fun and fresh take on home haunting is a creative inspiration for the community - while also raising money for the Burbank Animal Shelter. Please leave them a donation in exchange for this otherworldly and highly entertaining experience that truly encapsulates the spirit of Halloween.
