REVIEW: NIGHT TERRORS AT THE STARLIGHT BOWL
For years the Starlight Bowl has been a haunt wildcard. We visited them three years ago and were disappointed in our experience, however for the past two years we have really enjoyed their Night Terrors.
The Starlight Bowl is a famous venue where U2 would rehearse in the 1980s. Located in the mountains of Burbank, it is an outside amphitheater similar to the Greek Theater, but smaller. The Starlight Bowl hosts Night Terrors, a haunted maze staffed by mostly teenage volunteers. They have really cranked up their horror factor in the past two years which has delivered a much better experience.
This season was really fun and scary. As you go through the outside mazes, various alleys, and the venue itself, the teen volunteers do not hold back. I’ve always thought that there is nothing more frightening than confident teenagers.
My only issue is that the outro last year was better. Then it consisted of teens being tortured amid a u.f.o. wreck and felt more conclusive than the scarecrow finale of this year. I’m curious to see how this haunt will grow in the next few years as we have witnessed it improve with age.
Night Terrors at the Starlight Bowl is a haunt for people of all ages. We highly recommend supporting this haunt because it encourages teens to see their creativity come to fruition.
