review: CORONA HAUNT
Another haunt we always miss due to distance and timing is the infamous Corona Haunt. This maze is one we had always heard great things about - but just never seemed able to visit. This year, we were blessed with a schedule that allowed us to finally visit this legendary home haunt - and had a great time!
For 2021, Corona Haunt’s theme is “The Tales of Halloween''. As you make your way through the maze you will be enveloped in the cotton candy scented fog as numerous sets come to light. Your voyage begins at a wonderful Halloween porch complete with a dramatic soundtrack and ambient sounds of children trick-or-treating - and before you know it a monster suddenly reaches out from the window to frighten you. Deeper into the maze you will travel through long, candlelit hallways and spooky cemeteries with living skeletons that are only illuminated by a full moon. The Halloween theme continues with witches’ lairs and the most climactic part of the maze, the neon-infused pumpkin cave with a massive jack-o’-lantern puppet.
The fact that Corona Haunt has created such a unique and immersive world left us with a sense of wonder. Their work is of such high quality that it is evident that they’ve spent years of work fine-tuning their DIY Halloween attraction. We congratulate Corona Haunt on a successful first ten years - and send them a cheers to another decade of scaring the haunters of Southern California!
