review: bcr a Place to scare presents: cursed creek

Bridging Community Resources (BCR) is a Burbank community center for adults and children with developmental disabilities. For the past few years they have been hosting a small community-based haunt on their property to help raise funds for their non-profit organization. For the 2021 Halloween season they are hosting this haunt as a walk-through play taking place around their building and parking lot.

Within this year's haunt, entitled “Cursed Creek”, you will meet mythical creatures including witches and various horrific representations of folklore brought to life through a series of enacted vignettes. The highlight of these performances was definitely the encounter with Baba Yaga - the scary witch of Slavic folklore. This scene was complete with a DIY crafted hut - that infamously sits atop a pair of chicken legs - and shadow puppetry seen through the home’s window.
