REVIEW: The Hauntitorium
This past weekend Harvest Town presented the “The Hauntitorium”, a fundraiser for the Los Feliz Charter School for the Arts. This DIY maze was built by elementary school children, school staff, and volunteers; and filled the school’s auditorium with every theme kids would love from Stranger Things to Friday the 13th. It was wonderful to see young monsters on the prowl for a good scare instead of routine school pep rallies and assemblies.
This haunt was very festive and very fun - the sets were beautifully designed and we enjoyed the mechanical skeletons and seeing kids dressed up as Pennywise. The energy of this haunt was incredible as all the young volunteers were extremely energetic and very dedicated to their haunt roles. We loved the DIY touches that were used, like when we exited the maze and went through a hall of mirrors which was created by using reflective paper. (We have never seen this method used before.)
The Hauntitorium was a great way to enjoy the dedication and creativity of children while supporting a good cause. We look forward to visiting this maze again next year!
