review: the farm
Like Burbank, Santa Clarita is known for a long lineage of legendary haunts. One of them, The Farm, has been a constant favorite of ours for almost a decade. Created by Tim Fowler, this haunt is filled with a huge personality that is evident throughout the many details and features of its ghost town builds. Fowler’s work takes the form of everything from a display to a maze, and therefore you are never quite sure what you will encounter each Halloween season.
Years ago, when The Farm began, it was in Glendale. We have fond memories of Fowler and his family making an intense maze that lived in the space of their driveway. With its grisly skeletons and carcasses lurking within dilapidated wooden buildings, you were always in for a great scare. For 2024, Fowler has brought that same energy, with his creative jack-o’-lanterns and branded cobwebs infused with hues of blues and reds immersed in rolling clouds of fog. This year, visitors can enjoy an interactive yard display through which you can walk and enjoy corpse heads within jack-o’-lanterns, spooky skeleton farmers, and a giant spider.
The Farm is only open for a few select nights this season, so we encourage you to make sure they are in operation before your visit. We have been very grateful to experience the evolution of Fowler’s haunted art for many years, and we hope that The Farm will continue to be active for many more years to come.
