REVIEW: Scream in the Dark Maze

For over half a decade, the Scream in the Dark Haunted Maze has been frightening its Lake Forest suburban neighborhood with both living and mechanized scares. Inside the black tarped walls of this maze you will encounter swamps, air raid sirens, and floating demonic children. All of this is contained within the space of a backyard.

The maze has many great details, such as a looming full moon overlooking the dead in the cemetery room. We loved the surgery room, and the mechanized beating heart which spurted blood in a surgical basin. The most impressive part of the maze is the swamp room, complete with a handcrafted bridge over running water!

Scream in the Dark Haunted Maze is a fascinating and must-see DIY haunt. If you are visiting Boot Hill, we highly suggest making the 15 minute drive south to visit this family maze and see how they are haunting their wing of suburbia!
