REVIEW: Rosehill Haunt
Glendale’s Ben Conway has been on the rise in the young generation of new blood haunters who have established themselves as the up and coming trendsetters in the haunt world (alongside Murder House Productions, Twisted Minds Productions, and The Opechee Haunt). This generation of under 21 haunters excel at bringing original and artistic visions to life through the magic of the Halloween season. This year, Ben has truly surpassed his previous work through his breathtaking yard display, Rosehill Haunt.
Rosehill Haunt is a spectral yard display that is centered around an incredible black light/phosphorescent colored cemetery set in front of a mesmerizing backdrop. The dozens of tombstones were individually crafted by Conway and are watched over by a group of jack-o’-lanterns hanging from an overlooking tree. This group of festive pumpkins put on a show through their synchronized audio and visual performance, singing the Haunted Mansion’s “Grim Grinning Ghosts” as they serenade the dead below.
There are numerous photo ops that include a skeletonized Headless Horseman and animatronic human skeletons along with subtle details such as the hidden Hatbox Ghost. If you are lucky enough to spot this Haunted Mansion Easter egg, let Ben know and he will give you a prize in the form of a Rosehill Haunt sticker.
Rosehill Haunt is a beautifully designed display complete with handcrafted Halloween props and numerous thoughtful details. Even though Ben is still a teenager, he has proven once again that his talent and craftsmanship are lightyears ahead of most adult haunters. We look forward to following Ben’s future career in the world of haunts and beyond.
