review: pumkin jack’s haunted house

It has become a Halloween tradition for us to visit all of the wonderful haunts that exist in Santa Clarita. Weather its been the wonderful work of the Farm, Beware the Dark Realm, Shiver, Club Fear, Wildwood's, Bones Gulch or its new maze Grisley Garen's it is a safe assumption that there is "something in the water" north of LA that forces people to make very good mazes. And every October 31 we close that are out with a visit to the always wild and unhinged mazes brought to us by Pumkin Jack's.

Located uphill in a residential neighborhood that really loves to celebrate this holiday you will become instantly impressed by the massive amounts of displays surrounding this haunt. As hundreds of people caravan and walk around the neighborhood it is one of the most festive places to visit. And its centerpiece, Pumkin Jack's, is a garage home haunt that every season delivers a new theme and is built with theme park level precision.

this years maze brought you into a haunted home (who's exterior was a shack and included a smoking furnace) where you then entered a refrigerator door that entered complete darkness. As you tried to find your way through this freezing, dark room you encountered characters and eventually a chainsaw wielding man. this scare actor was amazing and would try to get you through the wholes he had shaved through the shack.

Pumkin Jacks is a high energy haunt that never disapoints. While only open one night this year it felt like they had been running the show for a year. the excitement and enginuity that surrounds it every season always leaves us in awe making it the perfect conclusion to every Hallowen season.
