REVIEW: Oddities Flea Market

review: oddities flea market
For this weekend only, The Oddities Flea Market (OFM) is being hosted within the walls of The Globe Theater, a historic Beaux Arts establishment located in downtown Los Angeles. Curated by collector Ryan Matthew Cohn (“Oddities” tv series), this flea market is a bazaar of the strange and usual and includes an eclectic selection of local artists and vendors who specialize in the otherworldly and macabre.
There are three different areas to shop in, and wares include jewelry, art, medical curiosities, historic artifacts, taxidermy, and much more. There are also ample opportunities to soak in the sights of creeping monsters (@mmfabrications) from the comfort of one of the many couches nestled among the shadows of the baroquely decorated black and red theater walls. Guests can also enjoy drinks and food, like the gelatinous eyeballs from @solidwiggles.
We loved our time at the OFM, and hope to attend some of their workshops next time, specifically the “Anatomy in Chocolate” class (which was hosted by The Black Sheep Gallery in Burbank today). Tickets are still available for the flea market tomorrow (Sunday, March 27).
