REVIEW: Museum of Mystery
Two Saturdays ago Ivanhoe Elementary School hosted their annual Halloween maze, "Museum of Mystery". This haunt took place within a portable classroom during the school’s annual Haunted Hoedown. All of the props and sets were meticulously prepared in a manner which allowed for an overnight build. Very impressively, the haunt went up after the last class was in session on Friday in order to be fully active by Saturday morning. We have never experienced a haunted maze within a portable classroom, and the speed of the build made it that much more exceptional.
This year’s Museum of Mystery recreated select key scenes from Alice in Wonderland. Performed by students, staff, and volunteers, the delightful vignettes included many iconic characters such as the March Hare, the Queen of Hearts, and an amazing phosphorescent Cheshire Cat puppet. The structure of this haunt was cleverly created with hanging tarps and cordoned-off areas. The black lights, artistic costumes, fantastic set-design, and enchanting actors all brought to life the psychedelic tale of Alice and her fellow characters in Wonderland.
Museum of Mystery was aesthetically beautiful and very engaging. We recommend this maze for a family-friendly experience for Halloween enthusiasts of all ages.
