REVIEW: HORRORWORLD

For decades, Larry and Cheryl Bones of Bone Yard Effects, Inc. (@boneyardfx) have been creating legendary haunted house experiences, bringing scares and thrills to haunt goers far and wide. Larry and Cheryl began their careers in the world of film, going on to work for industry giants such as Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. The Bones have now partnered with Adam and Kerry LeBlanc, owners and operators of the Fleshyard Haunted Maze (@thefleshyard), to create a new Halloween event: Horrorworld.

Located on the upper level of the Puente Hills Mall, Horrorworld is a festive getaway for all things Halloween. Inside you will find vendors who sell locally made Halloween wares such as ghoulish masks and delicious treats like Halloween themed coffee. There is even a horror themed game section.

Our favorite part of Horrorworld was the spectacular trio of haunted attractions located in adjoining storefronts. These horrifying mazes include: Into the Black, The Fleshyard, and The Psycho Sanitarium. Because these haunts are located within a mall, there is a larger amount of space which allows for a more expansive artistic vision to come to life. We will be writing detailed reviews of all three haunted mazes and posting them throughout the week.

Horrorworld is a showcase of maze makers at the top of their game and we encourage everyone to go and support these incredible local artists. We can guarantee that you will not leave disappointed! The event officially opens this Friday (September 28th) and is located at 1600 S Azusa Ave, Rowland Heights, CA 91748 inside the Puente Hills Mall (next to Macy’s).
