REVIEW: Haunted House 626

Since its beginning, we have made it a yearly tradition to attend the Covina “Haunted House 626”. This DIY haunt is tucked away in a quiet Covina neighborhood and remains the most energetic and chaotic maze we’ve ever been to. You will experience a complete sensory overload as dozens of teenagers grab and jump at you from all angles all the while screaming and yelling. It's all good fun as you run into a motley cast of characters including clowns, witches, and possessed scarecrows. This maze is completely overstimulating without ever feeling aggressive - which is a fine balance that 626 has mastered perfectly.

The maze is built in a garage with walls made of tarps and flats/wood pallets that are dimly lit by multiple black lights. The second you step foot into the maze you are met with a cacophony of screams and hammers hitting oil drums. This immediate immersion into total insanity doesn’t let up until you exit the maze.

After next year the maze will permanently go dark as the teen haunters will be graduating from highschool and leaving for college. This news is bittersweet as this is a very special maze that stands out among its peers. While we are happy that the teens are growing up and are going out into the world to pursue their dreams, we are very sad that 2020 will be the final year for this amazing maze.
