review: THE HAUNTED HARVEST

In Southern California it is rare to find a haunt in a cornfield. Yet somehow the team at Haunted Harvest has locked down a two acre cornfield within Frosty’s Forest in Chino Hills. Within this area they have built a unique maze of horror for the past four Halloween seasons. Spearheaded by the builders who brought us the Perdition Home haunt, Haunted Harvest has expanded into an attraction much larger than anything any of us could have imagined.

For 2024 the Haunted Harvest has included many of its greatest hits, starting with “No More Lates Fees 2”, which is a retro horror video rental store named “Hauntbuster Video”. This Blockbuster tribute serves as a waiting area where people line up to enter into its maze, filled with store employees who have been impaled and gutted. It’s chock-full of gore, which Perdition was known for back in their home haunt days.

As you enter into the cornfield, multiple monsters appear seemingly out of nowhere to scare you as you go through the different haunted houses along the trails. The haunted houses include “Brujeria”, “House of Jack”, “XXXmas”, “Maniacs”, and “Gordey’s”. A lot of these classics include serial killer and holiday themed houses; and their new addition, “Gordey’s”, is a frightening arcade where its eponymous mascot has been killing children after dark.

Haunted Harvest is a true gem of the season. The Perdition team has always offered great work and it gets better and better with each new year. In addition, they now have another one of our favorite haunt builders, Anaheim's Pirate’s Cave, helping with builds as well.

We highly recommend attending this event as it offers a truly rare experience that should be enjoyed by every seasoned haunter. Will you dare to go face to face with monsters among the rustling cornstalks and moonlight shadows?
