REVIEW: THE FRIGHT PRO

review: the fright pro

Wrapping up our amazing haunt season, we reflect on the misturn that happened last year while out haunting which took us to a very elaborate cemetery display on a quiet Burbank street. We were instantly very impressed and pulled over to take it all in. The haunt’s intricate design, sound, and lightning was so incredible that we were surprised that we didn’t know about this display already. This haunt, created by “The Fright Pro”, instantly became a place we wanted to visit in the upcoming seasons.

Located on an incline of a small yard, this cemetery display is built with a wonderful amount of thought and meticulous craftsmanship. At first you are drawn in by the masterful builds and ambient sounds, only to be astonished by seeing the display slowly reveal itself as an intricate illusion wherein the three massive tombs take turns revealing the classic horror protagonists hidden within them. (These illusions were created by using a transparent, hand-painted image that disappears with sound and lighting cues to reveal the scene within the tomb.)

Each tomb carries the name of the author who penned the tale being brought to life right before your eyes. Mary Shelley’s tomb reveals the electrifying lab imprisoning the Frankenstein Monster, Washington Irving's tomb reveals the Headless Horseman and his horse rearing in mid-air, and Vargo Statten’s tomb reveals the Creature from the Black Lagoon suspended in murky aquatic depths.

This is a stunningly beautiful and ethereal display that we spent multiple nights under the moonlight visiting. While The Fright Pro has requested to not be included on any haunt listings (which we respect), you can find this display next year if you put some effort in. This haunt is wonderful to visit and easily one of our favorite displays of all time.
