REVIEW: AHS Presents: Nightshade Manor

For one day a year the Alhambra High School Thespians welcome visitors to their haunted maze inside of the school's theater. This haunt has a tremendous amount of work put into its theme and builds, yet it’s only open for a few hours each Halloween season. This past Friday they hosted a new and original maze, "Nightshade Manor", that took us through a twisted world filled with blood and gore.

Every single scare actor brought their acting A game - and as a troupe made this a relentless and terrifying maze. We were constantly surrounded by ghoulish characters, from decaying zombies to sick hospital patients. The dimly lit atmosphere was sinister and creepy as we encountered children eating human guts and entered a kitchen where the chef was serving a menu filled with human body parts. Nightshade Manor was a beautiful whirlwind of chaos and fun that we greatly enjoyed experiencing as we navigated our way through the manor’s dark halls. 

It is always wonderful to visit the AHS annual haunt and experience the talent that is brewing within the school's walls. It is both entertaining as well as inspiring. The Nightshade Manor haunted house is a great example of how the next generation of thespians are using their creative skills in acting, storytelling, and design to hone their talents while raising money for theater equipment and future productions.
